GIN ON THE LAWN
Welcome to the most sought after event on the 2018 Festival program Gin on the Lawn.
After a sell-out event in 2017, tickets to experience the best song writers and musicians at this relaxed Sunday event will go quickly.
Offering a unique stage program at a brand new venue, guests will enjoy an afternoon of tasty Gin Cocktails, as they relax on the lawn and are treated to the melodic tunes of Sam Joole, Blue Too Few and the Luke Joseph Band.
Sam Joole has been touring, performing, recording and composing music across the world for the last two decades. Constantly searching for new inspirations, new cultures and new musical traditions to sample and work with across the globe. Drawing from folk-pop traditions Sam Joole is a true storyteller, with albums “The Crescent and the Moon” (2011) and “Shapeshifting” (2014) receiving rave reviews.
The Blue Too Few are a New Orleans inspired traditional ensemble featuring some of Melbourne’s finest musicians in pianist Fionn O’Sullivan, trumpeter Sean Nihill, Jim Glason, Steve Temple, Ben Braithwaite and Rob Moffett.
The Blue Too Few are touring nationally to promote their debut self-titled album and feature a fun, jazzy vibe sure to get everyone dancing.
The Luke Joseph Band have performed nationally and locally at events including the Australian Open and Melbourne Grand Prix.
From a young age, Australian singer songwriter Luke Joseph was influenced by hard rock, jazz, funk, folk and heavy metal, his voice and guitar bring energy and spontaneity to every performance. Luke prides himself on delivering a unique experience that tailors to each individual audience. His shows captivate crowds, as he thrives off their participation and influence.
“The shows are really exciting because we listen to the crowd and let them guide us. People often yell out their favourite song and we wanna take them wherever they wanna go.”
